2008 Film Festivals2008 Polyester Prince Road ShowSince 1998, the Polyester Prince Road Show has brought an amazing and enchanting array of small format films to audiences around the globe. By incorporating live music, bingo, prizes and surprises, the Road Show transcends the silver screen to become an interactive community event. This year's road show will be held during the month of July.
We are currently seeking short films (especially Super 8!) to add to the program. Submissions, clearly labeled with filmmaker contact information, may be sent on mini-dv to: Polyester Prince Rambling Road Show c/o Echo Park Film Center 1200 N. Alvarado Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026 There is no fee or deadline for submissions. Please include your name and contact information with your preview copy and a SASE for return mailing.
2008 Human Rights Film FestivalThe 8th Annual Human Rights Film Festival will take place at EPFC on October 18 and 19, 2008. We are currently seeking films on human rights issues that promote thought, discussion, debate and action. Basic human rights, including the right to peacefully assemble, the right to religious freedom, the right of political sovereignty and the right to life and liberty, are often taken for granted in Western industrialized nations.
Please send submissions on mini-DV or DVD, clearly marked with filmmaker contact information to: Human Rights Film Festival c/o Echo Park Film Center, 1200 N. Alvarado Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Submissions must be received at Echo Park Film Center by September 17, 2008. The official festival program will be announced to filmmakers and the general public on October 1. There is no entry fee for the festival, however, please include a SASE for return mailing of submissions.
2008 Youth Film FestivalThe Echo Park Film Center invites filmmakers aged 19 and younger to submit work for the Third Annual EPFC Youth Film Festival to be held May 17 and 18, 2008 at the Echo Park Film Center in Los Angeles. Our aim is to provide an open forum for the exchange of ideas, experience and information by young filmmakers in Los Angeles and beyond.
Films may be on any topic, however, the selection committee will give priority to work that demonstrates originality, social awareness and creative exploration. In addition to screening youth films from around the world, we will also be hosting discussions and workshops during the course of the weekend. All screenings and workshops are free for youth 19 and younger! Admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis. We welcome and encourage your participation!
Please Note: There is no entry fee for submissions. Please send submissions on VHS, mini-DV or DVD, clearly marked with filmmaker contact information to: Youth Film Festival c/o Echo Park Film Center, 1200 N. Alvarado Street, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Submissions must be received at the Echo Park Film Center by Friday April 20, 2008. The full festival program will be announced to applicants and the general public on May 1, 2008. Films may be up to 30 minutes in length. Please note: we are unable to return submissions so DO NOT send us your only copy! For each submission, please print out the attached PDF file and fill it out.
